I love this vision of Spinosaurus! The artist captures the buoyancy the hunter feels as it lurks in a comfortable shallow. German paleontologists found Spinosaur fossils during WWI. Those specimens were destroyed by bombing in WWII. Only recently have more turned up. The current view is that Spinosaurus was more aquatic in its habits than modern hippos. The spine was a sexual display ornament.
