5. The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold - 7 Books to Read before You Die ... → Books

The Lovely Bones - Alice Sebold. I cried often reading this book, but it's one of the best I've read. HATED THE MOVIE!

This was my favorite read from AP English Literature. It is a totally gripping read. Plus it's technically a novella, so it's really short. Honestly, you probably won't ever feel a true connection to the characters, but the dystopian society that Rand unfurls makes you really think about what matters to you in your life... Especially your freedoms.

I think The Borg were patterned after this dystopian society. Loved it.
