Daughters of the Dust dir. Julie Dash (1991) Everyone. This was the first film directed by an African-American woman to get a general release in the United States. It’s notoriously hard to find and criminally underseen and it is now streaming of Netflix, as of today, 6/14/17. Please please please go watch it.
