Namaqualand in Spring
Namaqualand is a semi desert in the north west of South Africa, but in spring, following good winter rains it explodes into a riot of colour. For tourists, the endless fields of daisies are a delight, while for botanists, the winter/spring flowering bulbs are of more interest, as there are a large number of families and species. We have incuded the Richtersveld, Nieuwoudtville, Clanwilliam, the Biedouw Valley and a few pictures from the West Coast National Park.
