Ditsy Floral Inspiration
We are loving Selma Cardoso's entry for Spoonflower's Design Challenge of Vintage Nostalgia Kitchen Wallpaper. Her entry is a simple geometric, retro, vintage, deco inspiration in emerald green and spearmint colors. Such a lovely mock up as well! Selma sells this pattern in several colorways on spoonflower and other print on demand shops.
French designer Claire Iglesias' art will surely make you smile🤩@claireiglesias_ uses a sophisticated, refined color palette that really pops with her mix of abstracted shapes and cute motifs. She sells wrapping paper, rugs, blankets, and cards through her website along with pattern designs for licensing. Stop by her site for a good time and some shopping!
Twin sisters Caroline & Louise are the talented artists behind @wilsondesigncollective and we adore their highly detailed, nature-inspired designs! This #wip shot shows a gorgeous gouache painting in progress which Louise created for a wallpaper launched last year by @sanderson1860. Louise describes her process of "always making sure the repeat flows gracefully across the width of the design to ensure a balanced repeat." Thanks to @wilsondesigncollective for sharing with #patternobserver 🖤
How stunning is this blockprinted pattern by @365blockprints?! We love the layout and the use of the more faded ink to create the contrasting stripes. @stefano_stoppani is the artist behind this daily project that was started in January of 2021, and we giddily lost track of time falling down the rabbit hole of this gorgeous page! Thanks to @365blockprints for sharing with #patternobserver 🔶

October is Home Decor Month in the Textile Design Lab, which means we are coming together as a community to explore the home decor industry and become more empowered designers. We are doing this through a series of guest expert presentations, two of which are from one of our longtime members, Jenny Bova. Jenny is also kind enough to share a bit about her background and the industry in today’s post!
