On December 13, 1988 the AWA (American Wrestling Association) presented SuperClash 3 live on Pay-Per-View.  It was held in Chicago, Illinois at the UIC Pavilion and drew 1,672 people.  This would be the AWA's only attempt at Pay-Per-View.  There was also talent from WCCW (World Class Championship Wrestling based out of Texas)

The Bunkhouse Stampede was held on January 24, 1988. It was shown live on pay-per-view from Uniondale, New York at the Nassau Coliseum.  Four matches including three title matches made up this card which drew 6,000.  This was the second pay-per-view for Jim Crockett Promotions.  It went head-to-head with WWF/E's first ever Royal Rumble.
