Though #maltreated by her stepmother in her #childhood, then #despised and #rejected by her non-Christian family for accepting Jesus, Esti* nevertheless (pictured here) enrolled in a Bible school and now, along with her husband, pastors a 100 members strong church for Believers from a Muslim Background (#BMB) in #Indonesia. #womensmonth
Ding has an incredible #testimony. She was an itinerant #evangelist in #China. Her commitment to the Lord Jesus is expressed this way: “#Jesus died for me. The least I should do, is die for Him. To suffer and go to #prison for Him is my #honour, and I look forward to it.”
This is Anwar’s family. To the left you see her sister Ghada, to the right, her mother Samera and father William. Our contact first met Anwar and her family a month after they became victims of the terror of Islamic State (IS). They arrived in the safer Kurdish area with nothing but the clothes on their back. At that time when we met them, they had only the cold floor to sleep. We were the first to visit them.
This is Anwar, an internally displaced woman (#IDP) from #Mosul, #Iraq. She daily takes care of her traumatised, elderly parents and her sister who became disabled after an attack by Islamic State (IS). “Anwar is one of the strongest women I know,” says Sara*, an Open Doors contact. “She is also one of the most caring. Back in Mosul she used to be a nurse, but the majority of her care went to her family. She cared for them in extraordinary ways even before the Islamic state took over her…
“God taught me to develop inner #beauty through #faith, #obedience, #courage, and #prayer. I became more confident in introducing #Christ to others, more supportive of my husband [in fulfilling] his calling and potential, and more conscious of helping my children grow up as God-fearing people,” says Sarah who has since returned to her home country of #Bangladesh, along with her husband.
Please continue to #pray for 16 year old Anita from Pakistan. We recently shared that she might lose her arm due to cancer. Doctors at various clinics were refusing to treat her, but she is now receiving radiation. Please cover her in your prayers. Pray that the radiation may be successful and that God will send the right doctors and nurses to provide her with the necessary treatment. All to the glory of our Father! http://ht.ly/M49iU
Chininani Mali from Koinunya church in Bongmati stands in front of her house which is now in ruins. Almost all the mud houses belonging to the members of the Bongmati church in Nepal were destroyed by the recent earthquakes. Please continue to pray for all those affected. May the Church in Nepal be comforted by the Lord and may they, in turn, respond with the Lord’s comfort and wisdom to those around them. http://ht.ly/M49iU
Many Iraqi believers, displaced by the Islamic State onslaught, have looked to the mountains and, like David, have asked the Lord where their help will come from (Ps. 121). And women and children are especially vulnerable. Pray that they might experience the Lord taking hold of their right hands and helping them. Pray that fear will leave their tired minds and bodies and that trust would take its place. http://ht.ly/LnwOS
