Originally constructed in 1955, this midcentury penthouse apartment has been completely reimagined by SkB Architects, located in Seattle, Washington. Encompassing 1,590 square feet of living space, the original layout typified the small, separated living spaces of its era.
This industrial warehouse loft, dating from the 1920s, is restored to its original aesthetic intent while updating for a new use in the 21st century. Previous, inappropriate renovations and transformations were removed, and new divided lite glazing, fir, white oak, and raw and stainless steel were implemented throughout to create a contemporary industrial feel.

This loft condo renovation designed by Besch Design is situated in a building that once housed National Biscuit Company, now known as “Nabisco” and is located in the West Loop neighborhood of Chicago. The loft style condo unit is located on the upper floor and is a multi-level unit. One of the main features is the kitchen, which is located in one of the old ovens used for baking. The steel parts for the oven doors are still embedded into the exposed brick.
