Too cold to walk outside? Find other ways to work some extra exercise into those cold winter days: 1) Park your car at the back of the lot at work, the store, and anywhere you go. 2) Shovel your snow yourself. 3) Hike the mall. 4) Take the stairs every chance you get. 5) Sign up for charity walks. Get your friends to do them with you. 6) Crank the music and get your heart rate up the next time you mop or vacuum. YOU CAN DO IT!
Inactivity has become a major health problem for Canadian children. Only five percent of Canadian kids accumulate at least 60 minutes of moderate- to- vigorous physical activity daily. In January 2015, ParticipACTION launched a new campaign to increase awareness about how screen time is taking away play time.
