Cetshwayo kaMpande was the South African king during the Anglo-Zulu war. He was one who resisted British demands for border infractions which led to the start of the war. After the Zulu's defeat he was deposed and exiled. He spent the remainder of his life in London, only returning in 1883 one year before his death. He is remembered as the last king of an independent Zulu nation.
