Pendennis Castle Memories of my father who worked in Cape Town dockyard (frequently repairing the Union liners), and my aunt and cousins who fled apartheid on the Pendennis Castle.

Upper Strand Street 1967 with the lift shaft of BP centre on the left and Trust bank under construction a little further to the right.

Lower Adderley Street the first road to the left is Riebeeck Street and the circle is where the fountain stands today. Warships can be seen in the dock in the first year after the war ended.

To the time it snowed on Table Mountain in 1909. Photo taken from Buitenkant Street.

Buitenkant Street which linked the settlement of Cape Town to the Wash Houses next to the Platteklip Stream where clothes were washed by slaves. Snow on Table Mountain!

Woodstock Pavillion 1935

Situated near the present day Royal Cape Yacht club, was the Woodstock Bathing Pavilion.The road was Marine drive that ran along the beach all the way to Milnerton.
