Print out a pattern you like, place a sheet of wax paper over it and trace the pattern with puffy paints.  When it dries peel it off the wax paper and apply it to it's permanent surface.

Place a sheet of wax paper (or transfer paper) over pattern and trace with pencil. Flip wax paper (pencil side down) on the canvas. Run a pencil over the blank side of the wax paper. Pattern should transfer to canvas, then trace it with puffy paint/glue.
