Gouritz River Bridge Situated between Albertina and Mossel Bay

It is the largest and boldest enterprise in bridge construction in South Africa, crossing a deep and rocky gorge of the Gouritz River; it was opened on 30th March 1892 by the Commissioner of Public Works, Sir Jas. Sivewright, C.M.G., M.L.A. Its main feature is its large central span. The height of the bridge over the level of the bed of the river is 210 feet.
