Irma opened my heart with her bold pallet-knife impasto strokes and choice of colour pallet! Every time I need a pick-me-up, I stare at her florals in my book. Love his art - Richard Scott. One day I e-mailed Richard and asked him if I could feature him and his work in my newsletter. He then, to my surprise, called me. So I set out to Melkbostrand to go see him. he laid out his plans for an empire! I walked away with a coffee set & inspired. Richard is the art rebel in my eyes... He bulldozed his way into the Art world! Love him, hate him, but you can't ignore his style! Featured in my art newsletter 2010…

Gavin Rain (his artist name) So I found Gavin Rain's artwork through Richard Scott in 2010, Since we have become friends. His work is awe inspiring and I have seen the artist in action. Sometimes Gavin & I meet up for tea and discuss art and philosophy. He's my go-to-guy for bouncing concepts off. I wrote a little art newsletter about him and his work back in 2010. My Favorited one by far! check it out: http://www.madelain.co.za/?page_id=133 here:

Newsletter | Madelain Burgoyne More of Gavin's work. I love the mirage Paintings! A trade-mark of Gavin's work is how the paint is so thickly layered. I should ask him what the highest point of paint he can reach with stacking up the paint! I've seen him work on these pieces. Sorry... I'm not spilling the beans of his genius!
