The colour of Burmese sapphires is usually described as royal blue. The most sought-after stones though are on the darker side of royal blue. Many gemologists, retailers, auctioneers talk very highly of Burmese sapphires being the very best quality sapphire, and we used only the best stones from Faidee collection to create this bracelet.
Van Cleef & Arpels - A pair of Art Deco diamond and sapphire earrings, circa 1924. In these elliptical earrings of 1924, Van Cleef & Arpels used a clever trompe l’oeil setting to give the appearance of overlapping loops of diamonds and sapphires that would have been seen with bobbed hair. #VanCleefArpels #ArtDeco
Ring roundup: rectangular(ish).
Art Deco-style sapphire and diamond table ring. The center stone is an old brilliant-cut diamond (approx 0.50 carats), set vertically to either side with seven square-cut sapphires and surrounded by a diamond border. I think it looks like a quilt, with the way the gems are fitted perfectly together. Via Diamonds in the Library.

Van Cleef Arpels’ new collection of #HighJewelry is inspired by a well-known #fairy tale, Peau d’Âne. In its homage to the story of this young princess, the Maison has revisited several of its favorite themes: the feminine figures born in the 1940s, a charmed nature, the delicacy of couture adornments and the language of romance.
