Great Spotted Woodpecker on snow covered tree
We have been waiting for ages for the snow to arrive so when I saw it was forecast for the whole weekend I realised that it would be two long days of photography as I really wanted to capitalise on the conditions. The great spotted woodpecker have been regular visitors to the squirrel spot so it was up with the hide and fingers crossed that the woodpecker would go onto one of the snow covered trees. I was delighted when he selected this tree as it was heavily laden with snow.
Winter - Kromme Rijn, Amelisweerd, Rhijnauwen, Utrecht
