Potjiekos (literally translated mean "small pot food") is traditional meat-and-vegetable stew of the Boers. It's slowly cooked in a three-legged cast-iron pot over coals.



Potjiekos is hugely popular with South Africans who love entertaining guests

Potjiekos is normally made in an iron pot on an open fire. Recipes can vary widely and are delicious without exception. Matie Brink's books are my favourite.
