Roosterbrood (Grill bread)
This is a typical South African barbeque recipe. Another variation is known as Stokbrood (Stick bread). This is where bread dough is wrapped around a green stick and barbequed - hence the name, "Stick bread". The bread is ready when it sounds hollow when tapped. Once cooked, the stick is then removed and the hole is filled with butter and syrup (or any filling of your choice).
