Creative Writing The snowball writing method is a fun way to teach your students how to write collaboratively. Students write, crumple, and throw. Their stories are continued by another student in the class!

The first thing the students do is turn their squiggle into a picture. Then, they write a story about their picture! In the download, included is a younger grade and an upper grade version, 2 pre-made squiggles, and a blank one for you (or your students) to create your own squiggle. I think this is such a fabulous idea, yet so simple!

Squiggle story-Easy enough to have ready for a substitute in an emergency. Useful for a wide range of grade levels. <---I did this in grade as a center, but I think I'll add it to my grade emergency sub plans.
