Moscow Coach, in its Moscow museum, the gift from Elizabeth I to Tsar Boris Godunov, circa 1603. Its constructor was possibly Walter Rippon, one of Elizabeth’s favoured coach-builders who, in 1555, had built the first ever coach in England (for the Earl of Rutland).
