South African Monkey Gland Sauce. No monkey parts involved!! 50's French chefs at the Carlton Hotel in Joburg got fed up with local diners ruining their steaks by using ketchup and Worcestershire sauce, instead of their French sauces. The chefs referred to these diners as monkeys and  "glands" (very rude French word) The chefs then threw anything they could lay their hands on into a pot and it turns out they made this incredible tasting sauce!
