These young cubs were spotted taking it easy on top of these rocks at Shiduli over the weekend, while their mums had left to go and find dinner!

After tracking lions for several hours over the weekend at Chisomo, one of the rangers came across a recently killed waterbuck. Our Ranger continued tracking and his persistence paid off, as walking down the road in front of him were the pride. The lionesses had gone to collect their cubs to bring them along to join in the feast.

A bird that we often hear, but don't usually see! This Crested Barbet had no qualms about showing off for the cameras at River Lodge earlier today!

At one of the dams near Shiduli we were thoroughly entertained watching this group of Herons, Yellow Billed Storks and Spoonbills enjoy some easy pickings due to the low water level which condensed the fish into a much smaller area!

Many of the animals are taking advantage of the areas around Chisomo, that have been opened up following a controlled burn on some of the reserve. These wildebeest were relaxing in a clearing, safe in the knowledge that they could spot any potential danger from afar.

After some seriously tricky off-roading at River Lodge earlier, which by the way, involved our guests having to duck and dive to miss the numerous branches, we were rewarded for our persistence with a lovely sighting of a female Leopard. We watched for a while as she tried to stalk a Kudu before disappearing off into the thicket.

Kuname Manor House - your perfect home away from home experience!

These striking yellow flowers belong to the African Weeping Wattle. The name of this tree is due to the presence of spittlebugs, which are small sap-sucking insects, that tap moisture from the tree. They use this moisture as a protective coating from the sun and predators by frothing it up over themselves, then with the excess fluid that drips off the bugs, gives the impression the tree is weeping. Just part of the magnificence we call home at Shiduli!
