Protea

protea arrangement, in my not so humble opinion protea should not be arranged in bunches. The flower is majestic enough that one is enough, with a little foliage. This detracts from their beauty, the colours are gorgeous.

King Protea - the floral emblem of South Africa. They grow prolifically by the side of the road in some areas but it is illegal to pick them. They do look regal!

King Protea (Protea cynaroides) It is a distinctive member of Protea, having the largest flower head in the genus. The species is also known as giant protea, honeypot or king sugar bush.

Not a tropical flower – it is a King protea – Protea Cynaroides – Fynbos from South Africa
