Crochet :: Japanese Style
Ahhh this book, do you remember me telling you it arrived on Saturday? It came aaaaaalllllll the way from Japan you know, and for some inexplicable reason this makes me feel incredibly excited. First time I've ever had anything arrive...
Crochet Hanger
Hello. Here's a little 'how to' for the crochet hangers I've designed after being inspired by the ones in Lucy's Japanese craft book. Firstly you need a wooden coat hanger. You then need to crochet a rectangle as long as the hanger and wide enough to cover the front and back joining at the top. Mine was 12 chain wide and 75 rows long in double crochet (UK) using double knitting yarn and size 3.50mm hook. Then crochet down the centre, 6 chain and then a double crochet to join into the base…
Hangin'
Since finishing the big bobble blanket I've been concentrating on smaller things and something I've been wanting to have a go at is to crochet covers for some of my clothes hangers - there's nothing like having hangers to match your clothes (yes, clearly I don't have enough things to fill my day!). They were easy enough to do, although the annoying thing about the hangers I have is that you can't unscrew the hook, so I had to crochet the long sides of the cover together once it was on the…

Crochet Covered Coat Hangers crochet project by Jennifer H
I love giving handmade gifts to my friends and I'm always looking for new ideas. I was inspired by photographs of gorgeous crocheted hangers I saw online - especially some Japanese ones - and thought I would give it a go. The pattern for the two hangers at the top of the main photo I found on the My Rose Valley blog. The ones with the dangly bits on, I made up as I went along! It's also a great way to use up left over yarn from previous projects.

Shabby Chic Doilies and Placemats
While being very busy with my little baby boy, I have been hard at work crocheting some custom items. Although it's a little difficult to combine work and mommyhood, I think we are getting the hang of it. After the holidays I was happy to get back to work, and boy I have been busy. I have photographed some of the finished items. Here are a few of them: 10" Doily to match my best selling coaster set pictured here in off white 100% cotton. 16.5" white placemats. I offer the same in my shop in…
