South Africa, Grahamstown train station
Grahamstown Eastern Cape South Africa 26th May 1982
Grahamstown station on the line from Port Alfred on the coast was very quiet on the day of my visit. The only activity was South African Railways 19D 2759 RSH 1945) simmering away light engine. The engine shed was on the curve off the end of the platform in the distance and another 19D can just be made out in the yard. It's even quieter today - trains don't run from the station anymore.
