Electric Tram on White's Road, Port Elizabeth
The residential part of Port Elizabeth is situated on the summit of a series of high hills at the back of the town proper. "The Hill", as it generally called, is so steep (being on an average about one foot in twelve), that it taxes the strength of the most robust. The most convenient means of reaching this part of Port Elizabeth is to go by the electric tram, which conveys passengers up what has long been called White's Road.
