Fine Art Botanic Gallery

I live next to Fernkloof Nature Reserve, Hermanus, South Africa. There is no other place on earth where so many different species can be seen growing in such close proximity. In Fernkloof more than 1400 species have thus far been collected and identified. Visit www.fernkloof.com for more info. The fragile nature of beauty is on display every where in this spectacular natural garden. Take a close up look!

The Sundew plant is a fragile sticky plant growing up to 40cm high in damp soft spaces. Note the tentacles on the delicate leaves, secreting a sweet liquid that attracts insects. Yes, this little beauty is carnivorous. Home is the coastal mountains of southern Western Cape, South Africa.
