Cape Town close up (circa 1938-ish) by mallix, via Flickr

Woodstock seaside (circa 1938-ish)

Detail of an old photo of Cape Town. Will try and get a high-def scan of this pic (it's very large (a1+), and the owner might not trust me with it).

When Table Mountain still had a forest 1968.

Particularly the Silverstream area used to look like the Knysna forests with massive trees (not Pine), thick green undergrowth and lots of birds.

Bellville, Jan. 1956.

Middle left the Karl Bremer hospital is nearing completion.

Doll House roadhouse Mouille Point

a Sixties view of this well loved beacon in Cape Town that lost its battle against progress in the early eighties.Just about everybody in C.T. loved this place, and many a nostalgic tale can be told. This photo was kindly supplied by fellow Flickr member HiltonT from the U.K. He has a treasure trove of old S.A. images from the 50's and 60's here www.flickr.com/photos/63154252@N00/collections/7215762191...
