Spilling out of the area between the iconic Table Mountain and the churning waters of the Atlantic, Cape Town provides visitors with a heady mixture of striking natural beauty, incredibly diverse cultures, and notoriously friendly locals. A Short History of one of the oldest houses in South Africa
Het Posthuys (also known as De Post Huys) in Muizenberg is considered by many to be one of the oldest structures built by European settlers in South Africa. This image (and many others) are very misleading because this view is NOT the actual point and is a view towards the south-west whereas the proper tip is in a south-easterly direction. It is very difficult to get a photo of the real point as it involves a steep climb first and then a steep descent towards the lighthouse on the the tip. Have a look at the HYBRID map.....there is no sandy beach near the tip.
