Wildlife and landscapes on our doorsteps, that we dont always get a chance to see
An incredible sunset in the middle of winter at Sondela which is only and hour and a half's drive out of Johannesburg. A lovely nature reserves with small game and excellent facilities
A little lion cub that was taken away from people who had bought her privately and fed her incorrectly so she is very small, they are getting her ready to enter the sanctuary to join the other cubs.
Trigger the cheetah that is used at the schools for wildlife talks and being an ambassador to encourage conservation.
Bushbuck up close and personal, they come close enough to be fed but not close enough to be touched, they had a little one with them which was still suckling, was awesome to be part of nature.
Jessica the Hippo is a "tame" hippo that was washed up to her owners door as a baby and they hand reared her, beautiful to get so close to this majestic creature.
Every sunset is different, and is an opportunity never to be missed if possible, to watch the skies change with such vivid colours - awesome!
The Golden Hour
Lets not forget the little creatures, the are very difficult to pin down for a photo - such awesome bright reds - managed to get a quick snapshot.
As the sun starts to set, you battle to distinguish between the golden colours in order to capture a moment.
totally blends in with the landscape, beautiful creatures
One of the Nyala's that came to visit, they come daily for feeding as well as feeding wild, they are still reasonably skittish so you have to approach them with caution and be wary as they are still wild.
We came across this Elephant and his mate at a watering hole in Kruger, and was amazing to watch him having a mud bath.
Orphaned Giraffe that was being raised by the conservationists until it is big enough to be put into the "wild"
