Baby Platypus
A baby platypus is also called a puggle, a term that's also used for the young of echidnas, another Australian mammal. Born from an egg, the puggle also suckles on its mother's milk after it hatches, making it one of the few animals that's both oviparous and mammalian. Fragile when born, a baby platypus is about the size of a nickel and cannot swim. Its mother teaches it how to swim & find food; it takes about five months for a baby platypus to become independent.
