Eyo masquerades don’t speak to anyone; apparently, it is a ‘no-no’. However, they do have a strange way of communicating with observers and spectators. Throaty short words, almost inaudible but uttered in strange eerie-like sounds. What is the message they give and what does it mean?

In Yoruba Polytheism and traditions Oshunmare (known as Ochumaré or Oxumaré in Latin America) is an Orisha and the god of the rainbow, and Osumare also means rainbow in the Yoruba Language. In some accounts he is represented as a serpent, along with masculine and feminine features. Oshunmare is a symbol of creation, human procreation and the link between the world of the mundane and that of the ancestors, the counterpart of the Dahomean Aido-hwedo. Orisha Art, Goddess Circle, Orishas Yoruba, Rainbow Serpent, Yoruba Religion, Rainbow Warrior, Oh My Goddess, Unicorn Makeup, Love Rainbow
