Modern, one-of-a-kind design installations by Ashley Renuart - 100 Layer Cake

These spare, elegant, folded-metal vessels by Italian designer Federica Elmo were one of best things we saw at the Milan Furniture Fair, day one.

Tendrils and spirals of copper, gold, red and brown wires create a lace effect over the red satin dress. Flaring panels are embellished with metal lace. Yellow silk cymbidium petals over the bodice and down the back of the skirt add bursts of color. Harsh metals manipulated and caressed create soft, flowing movement.
