The shop with dresses hanging up in the window is Trash and Vaudeville, which is famous for supplying stars like The Ramones and Debbie Harry of Blondie with clothing during the golden age of punk rock in the 1970s and 80s. Late last week we started hearing rumors that Trash and Vaudeville was leaving its home of 40 years at 4 St. Mark's Place. Store owner Ray Goodman confirmed the move yesterday, telling us that if all goes well, Trash and Vaudeville will be selling its rock 'n' roll fashions and accessories from its new space at 96 E. This particular view is of St. Mark's Place in the East Village. The giant cow on the right belongs to the restaurant Mark ("We grind our own beef") and the colorful neon signs belong to Andromeda - a tattoo and piercing establishment that merged with the West Village's Cassioppia a few years back.
