I've just done some searching - it's called a Garden Orb Web Spider. This was taken with my 100mm macro plus one of broadview's extension tubes - a torch shone on him for focusing, and a homemade flash paper reflector thingy. Had to get quite a bit closer than I'd have liked, but this lens is particular about precisely how far the subject must be. The web is huge!
