One of the best things to do in Point Reyes is the Alamere Falls hike, Alamere Falls is a waterfall that flows directly into the Pacific Ocean. This 13 mile round trip hike starts at the Palomarin trailhead. The Alamere Falls hike is a great thing to do on a Point Reyes day trip from San Francisco. On a nice cool day in August, we set out to hike Fort Funston in San Francisco, California, an old harbor defense installation site and off-leash dog beach!

In this video we hiked from the Hawk Hill Trail in Marin, with views of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, all the way down to a secluded, hidden black sand beach. This bay area hike was definitely tough on the way back, but worth the incredible views we got along the way! This is one of our favorite California hikes.
