This is found object assemblage done with an old rustic box. The box 9” X 8.5” and is designed to sit on a self or mantle, but it is also ready to hang. On the background of the box I attached some twig branches and added a wooden frame with a sepia toned photo of the mountain wilderness. On the bottom is where I made a nesting place for this beautiful quail. The quail is an old brass salt and pepper shaker. Final Piece- mixed media sculptural acrylic painting exploring themes of light, grace, nature, and the environment. love this reusing and recycling process! I made this thinking about the amount of plastic that gets into our oceans, I want to do more work like this in future to raise awareness and remind people to create something beautiful or useful out of the materials they have by re-using and recycling to reduce waste.
