I'm making cloth napkins with fancy mitered corners and used a border guide foot to embellish my fabric with decorative stitches. Lovely little and easy project with a big impact: less waste!
We decided to build our fireplace mantle with mitered corners and a French cleat. When the all of the sides have been cut at 45 degrees it gives you that solid beam look without having to deal with the weight or the price of a large piece wood. We love our faux beam mantle but we are thinking about staining it a little bit darker. Let us know what you think in the comments.
