Fantine - such a sad, tragic character. I thought Hathaway did a good job but it was all too graphic and quick: I much prefer the Liam Neeson version for that part about Fantine

Anne Hathaway won Best Supporting Actress for her role as Fantine in Les Miserables. To play the role, she had to lose weight and even cut her hair, but fortunately the missing teeth was accomplished by painting over her existing teeth. In an interview she said, "I would have pulled out my teeth to play Fantine."
