I turn wood mostly for enjoyment. I like to create new and exciting pieces which deviate from the normal path of woodturning. Inspired by the surrounding beauty here in West Virginia, I have created work that extends beyond the norms in today's woodturning world. With renewed interest in using color with wood, I utilize deeply colored and figured wood and on occasion will use stains, dyes and paint. I have recently begun to incorporate the use of metal accents.
