Higgins Lake Michigan. This was one of our favorite places to go camping. Pictures don't do this lake justice. It's absolutely beautiful. It's spring fed and cold. But when temperatures are consistently hot with a lot of sunshine, the shallow water will warm up and it's refreshing to swim in. LG

We like the following three beaches at Sleeping Bear Dunes because they all offer access to inland waterways, either along a river or a smaller lake, buffering swimmers from the cold Lake Michigan and ensuring the water is the perfect temperature and depth for swimmers of all ages and abilities.
