So that’s what I’ve got for you today on 2x2 ribbing! When used for ribbing, the Icelandic bind-off doesn’t tend to blend into the fabric and cinch the ribbing in as much as other bind-offs might. This makes it perfect for those times when you want your ribbing to hang more flat and stretched out rather than pulling in. It blends in perfectly with the purl bumps and creates what almost looks like a purled rolled edge. I absolutely love the way it looks, the way it stretches, and the way it leaves a nice substantial and stable bind-off edge. I find that, by leaving my needle in as above, I never bind off too tight. But
