We love when teachers tag us in their classroom decor posts. This is a reading corner has been created in a room with pale grey walls. It features two bench seats, a long tent canopy, cushions in various shades of pink and cream, as well as bunting that spells ‘reading.’ A small chalkboard and small wooden stools are visible too. Creating a reading nook in your classroom is a great way to promote reading time.

A classroom library is a must have in my future kindergarten classroom. Students learn how to read by reading! I hope to keep the library organized by topic in different baskets and dedicate time each day for free reading. The most important aspect of a classroom library, however, is not the organization but the inclusion of culturally diverse books. I want my students to see themselves in the books as well as see thier classmates.
