I was poking around on Instagram a while back and noticed these stunning photos from a variety of Hungarian folk regions. I reached out to Marcsi and we had a delightful conversation about her heritage and the work she does. Lázló Sáfián herds a couple of hundred merino sheep with the help of his herding dog. He's wearing his traditional shepherd's coat and black felt hat because of the inclement weather. Amazing applique and embroidery work on the collar and revers, and on the sleeves. Practical and warm as well. My friend and colleague Zsolt tells me the pattern on the collar is a traditional tree of life pattern.
