So that got me thinking about using old Bondaweb I inherited. It totally sorted me out. I applied it to one side of the binding by using an oven liner as an ironing cloth, overlocked it then folded it over and ironed it the way I wanted it to end up looking. The Bondaweb doesn't inhibit the stretch, keeps everything locked in place and seems to make it much easier for my machine to handle. I did the hems the same way, got a bit excited and made 3 tops then thought I'd better see how they wash.... 100% fine! I'm loving the sharpness of the finish. This here is a double fold binder attachment, which folds jersey binding both on top of the fabric and under it, leaving a neat result on both sides. It’s perfect to use on e.g. blankets where you want both sides just as nice. A single fold binder is perfect for e.g. necklines on jersey clothes. The binder works on ANY household sewing machine when you attach it with blue tack. It’s not the traditional way of sewing machine attachments, but it works excellently! . For binding I’m using precut interlock cut in the perfect width for the binder.
