Female identity art

Rome-based artist Micaela Lattanzio’s project “Fragmenta” centres on the fragmentation of female identity.

Figurative artist Leah Kelly works with oils, acrylics and charcoal to merge portraiture and surrealism. An unusual combination of faces and bodies in a representational art style is used to express emotions and experiences common within the female experiences. Women’s suffering, power, and emotions are expressed- translated through original ideas and compositions, or retellings of iconic imagery.

Using photography, collage, tapestry, and video, Erin M. Riley, Leah Schrager, Alexa Meade, and more reveal the meanings of self-representation today.

Identity Crisis We are living in a time in this world where our true identites are being hidden away. If we do not expose our humanity, then horrendous acts of violence will continue to occur. The people who commit these crimes, often do not view the victims as real people, but rather a character in a video game.
