Largely self-taught, Brad Holland (b.1943) is one of the most prominent illustrators, and one of the most copied, in the industry today. His career really began in 1960 when he worked for Hallmark as a greeting card artist. By the late 60's he moved to New York without any job prospects and pounded the pavements looking for work, which he found at magazines like Avant-Garde, Playboy, Time and Newsweek as well as several 'underground' publications.
