%Arabica, a cafe brand from Kyoto, Japan opened its first store in the Philippines in Manila in 2018. It is located in W City Centre in Bonifacio Global City (BGC). Embarrassingly enough, I hadn’t even been aware of it until recently! Believe it or not, there are only 4 %Arabica stores in two cities in Japan: Kyoto & Niseko. Since there is no %Arabica store in Tokyo (what?), I had never gone to any of them until I visited one in Manila! Currently there are two locations in the Philippines…

Arabica Kyoto – best coffee in Kyoto – by amatteroftaste.me – a matter of taste

일본 스튜디오 Puddle은 홍콩의 Kowloon 지역에 있는 페리 터미널 건물 내 작은 카페 아라비카(Arabica)를 설계하면서 기존의 구조와 일치하도록 흰색과 콘크리트 그리고 밝은 목재 표면을 사용했다. 이 카페는 스타 페리 터미널 빌딩 (Star Ferry Terminal Building)의 최상층에 위치하고 있는데 깔끔한 미니멀리스트 인테리어로 유명한 Puddle이 설계한 만큼 내부는 카운터를 제외하고는 바닥에 아무것도 거의 없는 심플한 정방형의 공간으로 탄생되었다. 브랜딩- 이 것이 이번 카페 디자인의 핵심 요소인데, 카페의 상징인 "%" 로고가 있는 커피잔 수백개가 인테리어 소품이고, 에스프레소 기계 앞엔 아라비카 문양이 있따.
