Caracter Studio's design for Manao Chocolate has the carefree, abstract look of a childhood art project with a mature polish. It's not hard to imagine the team really playing with this pattern in the same way a kid would with fingerpainting or spin art, which is a fun way to tap into the sometimes therapeutic energy behind getting yourself a fancy little treat with adult money. We love the colors on this packaging for Australian brand MECCA’s 2017 holiday packaging. The inspiration behind the design comes from the vibrant art of the Aboriginal people, making for an artistic approach to the overall packaging. “‘I make it fun. If there’s no fun, then there’s no art,’ says artist Claudia Moodoonuthi of her […]

This is one of a series of initial collaborative prints made by myself and Karen Wicks. Karen etches the image of the building from her own photographs onto a flattened cardboard box. She then puts this plate through the etching press to print the image - and then puts it in the post to me! I add the colour using an open silk screen. The artwork has been mounted onto white mountboard and is ready for framing.
