An eerie, abandoned military base engulfed by nature and graffiti is now home to a local park.

Marc Wilson, 46, travelled 23,000 miles to photograph 143 sites in Britain, France, Denmark, Belgium and Norway, including concrete fortresses, pillboxes crumbling into the sea and gun batteries split in two.

Training grounds, remote runways, and missile silos are a strange sight now that they've been abandoned.

Brackla in Bridgend was originally a Royal Ordnance factory and had 8 Underground bunkers built to store amuunitions, Known as the 8 X's. In the 60's 2 of the 8 X's were taken over by the Home Office and converted into Nuclear Bunkers to act as the Regional Government HQ for Wales. (RGHQ). The two nuclear bunkers were modified to have Nuclear Proof entrances and the ammunition tunnels changed to accomodation and offices.
